Great interim solution.

After last week’s Wakey Leak’s scandal, there was no doubt that Wake Forest’s radio team was in need of a new color commentator. Wake now has one, and he just happens to be the winningest quarterback in school history. Wake Forest announced this afternoon that Riley Skinner will join play by play announcer, Stan Cotten, in the IMG Wake Forest Radio Network booth for the Military Bowl on December 27th.

Skinner, who led the school to the 2006 ACC Championship and 31 victories over his 4 years as a starter from 2006 to 2009, is the school’s all-time leader in pass completions, passing yards, completion percentage, and touchdown passes.

In addition to his success on the field, he has strong experience as an analyst and studio host for ACC Network broadcasts. From what I’ve seen, I think he does an outstanding job. He does his homework of the games that he is covering, and offers strong insight into what’s going on in the game.

The school announced that a search for a permanent replacement will begin in 2017.
