Our Wake Forest Demon Deacons have a phenomenal opportunity in front of them this afternoon when they take on the defending national champion, Villanova Wildcats. It's still incredibly early in the season, but if Wake Forest is around the bubble come March, a win today would be monumentally important.

The Deacs can absolutely win this game if they are able to knock down the perimeter shot. Another edge that Wake could have in this game is pounding the ball in the paint to John Collins. Villanova has outstanding talent, but they are mostly perimeter players. Still, the Wildcats do an excellent job of limiting second-chance opportunities, so the winner of that matchup could go a long way in determining the winner of this contest. Finally, Wake must have outstanding defensive intensity today. There must be discipline and communication.
