Well, it shouldn't be too hard to find this game on TV. The Deacs are playing a nationally televised game on ESPN 2 in prime time. They are going against the Louisville Cardinals, who are led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is by far the best player in college football this season. His performances have been so ridiculous that he's currently a 1:20 favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. While he has completed just 59% of his passes, he averages 9.6 yards/attempt and has thrown 26 touchdowns to just 6 interceptions. He is an athletic freak who is leading Louisville in rushing with a whopping 1,181 yards and 19 touchdowns. He's putting up numbers that you can only get if you set the NCAA Football difficulty level to junior varsity and then adjust the sliders.
The Wake Forest defense will absolutely have their hands full in this one. Last season they held him to just 2 yards rushing, but he's a much better player than he was a year ago. Honestly, the key to "stopping" Lamar Jackson is going to be the Wake Forest rushing attack working on the offensive end and keeping Jackson on the sideline. Wake has been extremely competitive against Louisville over the past two years, so that gives me some hope, but this Louisville team is extremely talented, and I worry about a let down game for Wake after a very emotional win over Virginia last week. Wake's key to being extremely competitive last season involved a number of huge plays in the passing game. Wake is going to need a few of those to happen again tonight in order to have any chance.
We hope you all join us in the comments section below once the game kicks off. As always, go Deacs!
