Wake Forest University will be honoring Arnold Palmer, who passed away on September 25th at the age of 87. Arnold Palmer was a 7-time major champion, and won the Atlantic Coast Conference golf championship as well as the U.S. Amateur during his time as a Demon Deacon. He was incredibly generous with his time and money, and was an outstanding benefactor to Wake Forest University.

Full Athletic Department Release
All competitive fields and all jerseys will have Palmer’s distinctive umbrella logo. The Wake Forest football players will also have an Arnold Palmer sticker on their helmets. When the Wake Forest football team enters the field after the “open the gate” ceremony, they will be carrying a flag with the umbrella logo. Additionally, there is a pre-game ceremony honoring Palmer that is expected to begin at 6:50 p.m. I give the university a lot of credit for organizing this tribute.
