The media members of the Atlantic Coast Conference assembled in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday to interview every coach and two players from each team. In addition to asking questions of the representatives from each school, the media also gave their predictions on how well each team would perform in the conference. Where do they think that Wake will finish?

The media doesn’t think too highly of Wake Forest this season, at least relative to the rest of a loaded conference. It’s tough to be too critical considering Wake Forest went just 2-16 in conference play last season. Ken Pomeroy’s preseason projections agree with the media, and rank Wake Forest as the 13th best team in the conference, and 76th best overall.
Wake can certainly exceed this prediction. They have sophomores in Bryant Crawford and John Collins who could have outstanding seasons, and those players are surrounded by outstanding shooters.
We’ll continue to preview the team as we draw closer to the season. Wake Forest has an exhibition game next Friday, and will begin regular season play on November 11th against Radford.
What are your thoughts? Is this ranking too high, too low, or just about right?
