Chaundee Brown Commits to Wake Forest

The Deacs just got a MASSIVE addition to the 2017 recruiting class!

NCAA Basketball: Wake Forest at Georgia Tech Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

This is the sweetest bit of recruiting news that I’ve written during my 6 years at Blogger So Dear. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reports that Danny Manning and the Wake Forest basketball program just received a verbal commitment from Chaundee Brown, who is the 30th best player in the 2017 recruiting class.

Brown committed to Wake Forest today during his official visit, and ultimately chose the Demon Deacons over the Kansas Jayhawks. That’s right, Wake Forest just beat out Kansas in a head-to-head matchup for a blue chip recruit. Brown took an official visit to Kansas in early September, and had several in-home visits with Kansas coaches over the previous weeks, but it’s worth noting that Wake Forest was on Brown early, and did a fantastic job of establishing a relationship with the best shooting guard in the state of Florida. Brown has a legitimate chance to make the McDonald’s All-American game this season, and is Wake’s highest rated recruit since landing Al-Farouq Aminu in 2008.

Brown has a college-ready body and will make an immediate impact for the Demon Deacons. He can shoot it from the perimeter, and is more than capable of putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim.

This is such a massive land, and Brown puts Wake Forest in strong position to make the NCAA Tournament in 2017. Wake will now focus on trying to secure Brandon Randolph, who is another highly rated wing in the 2017 recruiting class.

Please join me in welcoming Chaundee to Wake Forest! It’s a great day to be a Demon Deacon!
