Adam: Virginia wins 70-61
UVA will force Wake to slow down and play in the half court, which isn't exactly our strong suit. Deacs not named Devin Thomas will probably struggle to get going on offense, so if the Deacs do not want to win they will need to feed the post as much as possible.
Bart: Virginia wins 77-63
Unlike my DOMINANT PANTHERS, Wake will not win by 34 points. UVA hasn't played great in ACC play so far this season, but took care of business against Syracuse on Sunday, and is still a serious threat. Wake continues their free fall and doesn't compete particularly hard. Cavs roll.
Chris: Virginia wins 79-60
My prediction is pain. UVA is looking to get back on track, and their players and coaches are leagues beyond ours at this point. The UVA defense has given us fits in recent years, and their ability to control tempo won't help either. I just don't see this as the game Wake gets its groove back.
Marc: Virginia wins 71-67
Yeah it's been a demoralizing stretch. Which is funny(?) because there were only two games that we could have realistically hoped to win that we lost, and even those weren't gimmes. But suddenly the ACC is looking even scarier top to bottom than it did at the beginning of the season. I feel like only BC is a gimme at this point.
Hopefully being back home will result in an effort closer to the Xavier end of the spectrum than the Cuse end. Regardless, I don't think the Deacs can pull this one out to stop this skid and stay above .500. I sure hope I'm wrong though, and there's a glimmer of hope. Wake has played well with ranked teams at times (often for 30+ minutes), but hasn't been able to put it together for 40 minutes in ACC play against anyone other than NC State. Then again, UVA is 4-3 in the ACC, with 4 wins at home and 3 losses on the road (with those losses all coming against bottom-7 ACC teams). A win would be huge for morale (at least among the fans, and presumably the team) but, unfortunately, shouldn't be expected. Go Deacs.
Ned: Wake Forest wins 74-72
Some good luck is finally due for the Deacons who are coming off their roughest stretch of the season so far. Behind a decent home crowd and some consistent three point shooting, Wake pulls off their best win of the season and UVA continues to be mortal on the road in ACC play (0-3 so far).
Samurai: Wake Forest wins 73-68
In an effort to exercise my #Foochstradamus powers for good, I'll go with the Deacs. Dinos Mitoglou of last year's Syracuse game returns and helps the Deacs squeeze out the upset.
Vegas: Virginia is favored by 7.5. Opened at 8.5. Over/Under is 140.5.
KenPom: Virginia wins 75-66 (79% chance of winning).
