Greg Dortch Commits to Wake Forest

Wake Forest has added yet another commitment.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Greg Dortch, a 5'8", 150-pound wide receiver/returner out of Highland Springs, Virginia, has verbally committed to play football at Wake Forest University. In doing so, he became the 18th player in the 2016 class to verbally commit to play for the Demon Deacons. He chose Wake Forest over James Madison.

Dortch finished his junior season with 44 receptions for 914 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was 2nd-team All-State at Virginia's 5A level, and also returned 4 punts for touchdowns. Given the Wake Forest coaching staff's affinity for special teams, it's anticipated that Dortch was recruited primarily as a return man, though he could contribute some as a slot receiver. He lacks elite top-end speed, but he has the ability to make the first defender miss, which is a more important trait for a returner to possess.

Below is Dortch making a defender miss at a Wake Forest camp that he attended. The coaching staff clearly took note of this move, as they offered him a scholarship shortly after he attended camp.
