The 2015 college football season will be the second year of Dave Clawson's tenure at Wake Forest University. He inherited a situation that was more difficult than most initially realized, and the 2014 team went 3-9, with the lone ACC win coming over Virginia Tech in double overtime. 2015 will not be any easier, as the Demon Deacons are one of the youngest teams in college football, and the schedule does the Deacs no favors. Just how hard is the schedule? Let's see how many AP Top 25 teams Wake will play in 2015.

Wake Forest is currently scheduled to play just three ranked teams, however, all three are ranked in the top 12 in the nation, and two of those games are on the road. Additionally, I expect Louisville to be ranked in the top 25 at some point during the season. The three-game stretch of Louisville, at Notre Dame and at Clemson is absolutely brutal, and has to be one of the toughest three-game stretches in the country. I'm sure I'll receive a comment from an SEC fan saying that I have no clue what I'm talking about.
Even though teams such as Duke, Boston College, North Carolina, and North Carolina State are unranked, that does not mean they are not very good opponents. The combination of youth and a challenging schedule could make for a long year for the Demon Deacons program. It will be clear to tell how far away Wake Forest is when we see them take on these teams. Hopefully with the toughest stretch being towards the end of the season, we will see some of our younger players emerge by that point.
It's hard to believe it, but the season is just 11 days away.
