The Wake Forest basketball program welcomed a solid set of visitors to campus on Friday. 2016 power forward John Mooney was on campus, and also earned an offer. The other being Wendell Moore, who is arguably the best player in the class of 2019. It's never too early to get those kids on campus. Learn more about each of the prospects.

John Mooney
Mooney originally committed to Florida in 2013 while Billy Donovan was still the head coach. However, he decommitted from the Gators about one week ago. He has interest from several ACC schools and is scheduled to take an official visit to Notre Dame on September 5th. Mooney's visit to Wake Forest was an unofficial visit. The fact that Mooney was willing to pay for his own way to make the trip from Florida to Winston-Salem is a positive sign for his interest in the school.
Mooney is a stretch-four who can knock down threes and is a good passer for his position. He is 6'9" 220-pounds, but does not appear to be a plus defender. He can, however, help Wake Forest stretch the court and create mismatches when Wake is on the offensive end. His recruitment is definitely one to follow, as I expect Wake to take two big men in this year's recruiting class.

Wendell Moore Jr.
Wendell Moore will not graduate high school until 2019, but he is already an imposing 6'5" 175-pounds. Moore comes from Charlotte, North Carolina, will attend Cox Mill High School, and plays his AAU ball for the CP3 All Stars. Moore has a very good feel for the game, and is an outstanding passer for his age and position. He is a special talent and has already received letters from Duke and North Carolina. While he will not attend college for four more years, it's likely that he will have his choice of nearly every program in the country. The college basketball landscape could look considerably different in four years, and this is definitely a target Wake Forest fans are going to want to watch.
