On Wednesday night, I hopped on Google Hangouts to talk about the Wake Forest quarterback situation with Mark Rogers of Mark Rogers TV. What can we expect from John Wolford this year and what does the quarterback depth chart look like?
Wolford was a true freshman last season and finished with 2,037 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions, while completing 58% of his passing attempts. On the surface those numbers are not strong, but Mark and I discuss the context of those numbers, and the trends that we saw as the season progressed. I also share my observations from how he performed in spring ball.
Next we discussed Kendall Hinton, who is a class of 2015 signee at Wake Forest, and early enrollee. I discuss his high school reputation, what the coaching staff thinks of him, and my observations of his performance during spring practice. I go over his strengths as a quarterback, and speculate whether he will play as a true freshman. Finally, we discussed Kyle Kearns, who is quarterback in the 2015 recruiting class. Could the 4-star compete for playing time as early as this season?
