Wake Forest continues to stock up on football commits for the 2016 recruiting class. This afternoon, Cade Carney, a 5'10" 195-pound running back out of Davidson Day High School, committed to the Demon Deacons. Carney is a 3-star running back, and is rated as the 69th best back in the country, according to 247's Composite Ratings. He chose Wake Forest over North Carolina and East Carolina.

Carney is a very good athlete, and had the highest SPARQ score of anyone at #TheOpening Regional Event in Charlotte. At the event he ran a laser-timed 4.53 second 40-yard dash, and had a 40 inch vertical leap. Carney has over 1,600 rushing yards over the past two seasons at Davie High School, on 6.1 yards/carry, and 20 touchdowns.

Carney is the 11th prospect to commit to the Demon Deacons for the 2016 class. The class will not be as big as the others, but does not lack quality players. The class is currently ranked 43rd nationally, and that ranking will only go up with the addition of Carney.
