Noah Rubin earned his third consecutive straight-set victory of the NCAA Singles Championship and advanced to the elite eight. He defeated No. 15 Yannick Hanfmann 6-2,6-4. Rubin was tied 4-4 with Hanfmann in the second set, but came up with a break and then held serve to win 6-4. Rubin is the first Demon Deacon in program history to reach the Elite 8.
Rubin is the highest ranked player remaining in the tournament. Today at 1 p.m. he will take on Jared Hiltzik of Illinois. The next highest ranked player in the tournament is Ryan Shane of Virginia. Rubin defeated Shane in the ACC Tournament.
