Wake Forest Will Play Rutgers in ACC-Big Ten Challenge

We know another non-conference game on Wake's 2015-2016 schedule.

ESPN announced the matchups for the 2015 ACC-Big Ten Challenge this afternoon, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will play at Rutgers. The game will take place on Monday, November 30th. Last season Rutgers went 10-21 overall, including going just 2-16 in Big Ten play. They did manage to beat Wisconsin, but that was when the Badgers did not have Frank "The Tank" Kaminsky. They have the 44th best recruiting class in the country, according to 247 Sports.

Rutgers was the 215th best team in Ken Pom last season, and had no player finish with an offensive rating above 100. Their head coach is Eddie Jordan, who is the former head coach of the Washington Wizards.

Wake Forest's non-conference schedule will be very difficult this season, so a trip to Rutgers is about the best Wake could have hoped for. Wake is scheduled to host Arkansas and will travel to LSU. Both teams made the NCAA Tournament last season, and LSU will have arguably the best freshman in the country next season. Wake will also participate in the Maui Invitational. While the first round games have yet to be announced, the field includes: Indiana, Kansas, St. John's, UCLA, UNLV, Vanderbilt, and Chaminade. That is a LOADED field, and potentially all teams, with the obvious exception of Chaminade, could earn berths to the NCAA Tournament.

Last year Wake Forest hosted Minnesota and lost 84-69. Wake Forest is 10-4 in the history of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
