ESPN's Jeff Borzello is reporting that Coppin State graduate transfer Sterling Smith will visit Wake Forest tomorrow. Smith is a 6'4" shooting guard who averaged 13.9 points per game last season, while shooting 42% from beyond the arc. He had the 65th best true shooting percentage in the country and had an offensive rating of 116.6. Last season he was 2nd team All-MEAC.

Smith is also an excellent defender, as he averaged 1.4 steals per game last season, while only fouling twice every 40 minutes of play. There's no doubt that Smith would be an excellent, and realistic addition to Wake's team next season. Wake needs a shooting guard who can create and stretch the floor. Wake is obviously also in need of a strong defender. Smith is from California originally, so it does not appear that playing close to home is a priority for him.
There is currently no timetable for a decision.
