Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: 2015 Forward Shaun Kirk

There's a new name for Wake Forest basketball fans to follow.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Rob Harrington of Scout.com tweeted this afternoon that Wake Forest will meet with unsigned 2015 small forward Shaun Kirk, and that Wake Forest would be the favorite if they offered. Kirk is 6'7", 185 pounds, and attended Flora MacDonald Academy in Red Springs, North Carolina. He is a consensus 3-star prospect, and holds offers from Auburn, East Carolina, and VCU.

Future 150, a basketball recruiting website, writes that Kirk is a "long distance assassin, who is also a big-time leaper." The site also cites defensive rebounding as one of his strengths, but believes that he must improve his speed, upper body strength, and the ability to finish after contact.

Small forward should be a priority for Danny Manning and his staff moving forward. The staff has addressed front court depth in the 2015 class, but the team is still lacking a legitimate small forward. I have not seen Kirk play in person, but I'd welcome a player who is as athletic as he is, and can knock down the 3.

To reiterate, Wake Forest has not offered Kirk yet, but the staff is actively looking to fill the final scholarship spot prior to the 2015-2016 season. Please continue to follow Blogger So Dear for the latest news regarding Kirk's recruitment, and all other Wake Forest basketball recruiting news.
