Steven Claude originally committed to the Deacs during an unofficial visit to Wake Forest's campus for Dave Clawson's "Friday Night Lights" Camp. Today, he made it official when he signed his national letter of intent to play football at Wake Forest University. Claude is the 68th best receiver in the country according to 247's composite rankings, and held offers from Duke, Louisville, West Virginia and Vanderbilt. Claude runs a 4.40 second 40-yard dash, has excellent hands and has the potential to contribute from day one.
Claude was named 2nd team all-state in Florida and was 1st-team all-Dade County, which has some of the best high school talent in the country. Dave Clawson has consistently said that he needs playmakers and players who can turn 5-yard slant routes into gains of 15 or more. I believe that Claude has the potential to do just that.
