The first 2015 verbal commit is now officially a Demon Deacon. T.J. Haney has signed to play football at Wake Forest University. Haney is a 6'6" 315 pound offensive tackle from Gaffney, South Carolina. According to 247 sports, the Gaffney High School product is ranked as the 786th best player in the country and the 18th best player in the state of South Carolina.
This is a tremendous commitment for Dave Clawson as well as position coach Nick Tabacca. T.J. told Blogger So Dearthat Tabacca was a "one-in-a-million guy and that they communicate nearly every day." Tabacca sent T.J. mail nearly every day and clearly establishing that solid of a relationship paid off.
Since committing to Wake last April, Haney has been on a Twitter tour promoting Wake Forest football to other recruits. He has been incredibly vocal about this program and this university. And it definitely paid off, with the best recruiting class in recent memory.
When T.J. arrives on campus, it is expected that the following offensive tackles would be on the roster:
Joel Suggs
Will Smith
Cameron Gardner
Dylan Intemann
Justin Herron
Haney chose Wake Forest over Vanderbilt, Marshall, Old Dominion and Yale.
