K.J. Brent, a former wide receiver at the University of South Carolina, announced on Twitter this morning that he has officially committed to Wake Forest. Brent stands at 6'4" 192 pounds and will provide the Demon Deacons with an experienced receiver and a red zone threat. He had nine receptions of 111 yards and one touchdown last year at South Carolina.

Brent was a consensus 3-star prospect out of high school and ultimately chose South Carolina over North Carolina. He also had offers from a host of other Power Five schools. He has a strong pedigree and will be an excellent addition to Wake's team this season. Wake Forest is going to be very young at the receiver position, so this commitment can potentially allow Coach Clawson to use an additional redshirt this year which will help Wake out several years from now.
