K.J. Brent is a 6'4" 192 pound receiver who has been a member of the University of South Carolina football team for the past four seasons. Last month he announced that he will be graduating this year and will play his final year of collegiate football elsewhere. If he enrolls in a graduate program that is not offered at the University of South Carolina, then he will be eligible to play immediately. Wake Forest is interested in the graduate transfer, and Brent will be visiting campus this weekend.

K.J. was a consensus 3-star prospect out of high school and chose South Carolina over North Carolina and a host of other Power Five schools.Brent finished this past season with 9 receptions for 111 yards and 1 touchdown. That may not seem like much, but it may have just been a result of opportunity. For example, graduate transfer E.J. Scott came to Wake Forest and thrived as a slot receiver. He caught 50 balls for Wake last season, but only had 3 the season before.

Brent would be a nice addition to a Wake Forest receiving corps, which will be very young next season. Wake Forest will return just 40 catches from wide receivers last season. Jared Crump, who will be a RS JR, had 32 and Jonathan Williams, another RS JR, had 8. Tyree Harris, who had 17 receptions as a true freshman in 2013, redshirted this past season. Brent would add size to the receiving corps, and potentially allow head coach Dave Clawson to redshirt another receiver. Brent's size could be a major asset to Wake Forest on redzone trips.
