Dinos Mitoglou, a.k.a. the Greek Deac, has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his outstanding performances against Miami and Virginia. In a 72-70 victory over Miami, Dinos made 6-7 threes for 21 points and also hauled in 8 rebounds. In a heartbreaking 61-60 defeat at #2 Virginia, the Greek Deac made 6-12 threes to finish with 18 points.

My man Bart Johnston dug up this stat earlier this morning. That stretch is just silly. 60% over 8 games?! Dinos is now up to 40% on the season. In addition to being an excellent shooter, he also has a very low turnover rate and has one of the better offensive rebounding percentages in the country. It's rare to find a player who shoots more than 40% from deep and is a good offensive rebounder.

It's remarkable to think that Danny Manning was able to land Dinos this summer, and that Dinos' only other offers were Temple and Old Dominion. Outstanding talent evaluation by coach.
Congratulations, Dinos!
