Ken Pomeroy Prediction: Virginia 71 Wake Forest 52 (Wake has a 3% win probability)
The Deacs travel to Charlottesville today to take on the #2 ranked Virginia Cavaliers. It will be the toughest test the Wake Forest team has faced so far this season. Points are going to be very hard to come by in this one. Wake Forest looks to attack and get in transition, but Virginia has only allowed 57 transition points on the season.
For Wake to keep this one close, they are going to have to convert on the few transition opportunities they have. Wake is also going to need Dinos Mitoglou, Mitchell Wilbekin and Cornelius Hudson to connect often from deep. If they can do that, then this should open up one-on-one post situations for Devin Thomas.
As nice as all that sounds, Virginia is such an excellent team. I'm taking UVA to win 63-45.
As always, go Deacs!
