Wake Forest at #1 Clemson GameThread

Go Deacs!

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons head to South Carolina today to play the #1 Clemson Tigers. The Tigers are a prohibitive favorite in this contest, and the Vegas oddsmakers have the Tigers as 28.5 point favorites. Clemson leads the all-time series 62-17-1. Wake Forest has not beaten Clemson since the 2008 season, which coincidentally was the last game Clemson played before Dabo Swinney took over as an interim head coach. The Deacs have not defeated Clemson at Memorial Stadium since 1998. Neither the present nor history looks good for Wake Forest's chances in this one.

Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson was asked what it would take against #1 Clemson to show that the team Deacs have improved, and he said, "We need to win." Clawson and his players are tired of moral victories. While I love the enthusiasm, this will be no small task. Clemson will probably end up resting some players, but the Deacs will still have a monumental task ahead of them.

I hope you join me at 3:30 p.m. to watch the action. As always, go Deacs
