There will be no Isaac Haas situation this year. The Wake Forest basketball program has received national letters of intent from all four 2016 recruits. Samuel Japhet-Mathias, the highest rated prospect in the class, has officially signed.

SJM is from England, and is a consensus 4-star prospect. He also had offers from Oregon, Clemson, and Georgetown. He has a massive frame at 6'10", 280 pounds, yet he is still light on his feet. He has a very solid skillset around the basket, and should be a good offensive post player for the Deacs.
He does a nice job of keeping the ball high, so that smaller defenders are not able to strip the ball. He's also a decent passer both in outlet passes and from the post, and has the length to block shots. Along with John Collins, Doral Moore, and Dinos Mitoglou, Wake Forest is now looking to build a strong group of big men.
Danny Manning originally made his mark as a coach due to his ability to develop big men. SJM will give Manning yet another opportunity to prove his worth. SJM has a lot of talent, and I'm excited to see how he grows over his career. Wake Forest got better today.
