Sulaiman Kamara Commits to Wake Forest

The 2016 recruiting class just got bigger.

Student Sports

The Wake Forest football program got better this afternoon. The Deacs received a verbal commitment from Sulaiman Kamara, who is a 6'1", 295 pound defensive tackle out of Richmond, Virginia. Kamara is a 3-star recruit, who is the 35th best defensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class, according to 247's Composite Ratings. According to that same metric, he will be the highest rated player in Wake's 2016 class.

Kamara chose Wake Forest over offers from North Carolina and Virginia. Kamara is currently on an official visit to Wake Forest.

Kamra will add significant size to Wake Forest's defensive line. He should bolster Wake's rushing defense. Wake already had a number of defensive line commits in the 2016 class, including Emmanuel Walker, Zander Zimmer, and Carlos Basham. The Deacs are currently redshirting three defensive linemen from the 2015 class, and true freshman Chris Calhoun gets significant playing time at defensive end.

The defensive line has not been big or physical over the past several seasons, but that trend is beginning to change. This was an excellent addition.
