Offense: James Quick, Junior Wide Receiver
So far, I've only had quarterbacks and running backs on here, so let's change that. James Quick leads the Cardinals receiving corps this season with 19 catches for 310 yards (9.7 avg) and 4 touchdowns. During the last 2 weeks, the Deacs have been blasted by big plays through the air by both UNC and NC State. Quick is a receiver with big play potential (see below), with each of his 4 touchdown catches on the year being over 15 yards. If Wake Forest continues their lackluster defense in the secondary, Quick could have a very big evening in Winston-Salem this Friday.
Defense: Trevon Young, Junior Linebacker
The Louisville roster has Young listed at linebacker, but in the Cardinals' 3-4 defense, that means he will also spend time on the defensive line rushing the passer. This season, Young has 18 total tackles including 5 sacks. He is on somewhat of a streak, with all 5 of his sacks coming in the last 2 weeks against Florida State and Boston College. Young is very fast coming off the edge as rusher (see below) and the Wake Forest offensive line is going to have to keep in front of him, or else Wolford and Hinton are going to be seeing a lot of number 91 on Friday. The Wake Forest line played its worst game of the season last week according to head coach Dave Clawson, and if they don't right the ship this week, Young will likely be adding more sacks to his current hot streak.
