Offense: Marquise Williams, Senior QB
Williams is a true dual threat QB who can make big plays with both his arm and his legs. Last year, he set 18 different records at UNC. This year, he is 70-111 (63.1%) passing for 845 yards and 6 TDs. He has thrown 4 interceptions, but 3 of them came in UNC's first game of the season, a loss to South Carolina. This season, Williams has also rushed 44 times for 346 yards (7.9 avg) and 4 TDs. He has even caught a pass for a touchdown this season. The Deacs will have their work cut out for them trying to contain Williams in the running game, while also not giving him excessive time in the pocket to make big plays through the air.
Defense: Jeff Schoettmer, Senior LB
Jeff Schoettmer is a very talented linebacker in defending the run and the pass. Last season, he had two interceptions, and returned both for touchdowns (The gif below is one of these). This season, he is second on the team with 41 total tackles, including 4 tackles for loss, and 1 interception. His ability to cover in the passing game presents an interesting match up with Wake Forest's Cam Serigne. If Schoettmer can take Serigne out of the Wake Forest passing game, the Deacs will likely struggle to score points.
