Wake Forest Official Visits 1/30

Who is visiting Wake Forest this weekend?

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

National Signing Day is just five days away, which means that this is the last weekend for official visits. Who is Wake Forest targeting this late in the game? We know of two names who could be nice late additions to an already very good class.

Tyler Cross

Cross is a 6'3" 275 pound defensive tackle out of Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville, Georgia. He is currently committed to Syracuse, but is listed as a "soft" commit on 247. 247's Composite Ratings show that he is the 92nd best defensive tackle (consensus 3-star prospect) in the 2015 recruiting class. Can Clawson and company keep the defensive tackle closer to home? We'll know more after the weekend.

Jessie Bates

Wake Forest offered Jessie Bates earlier this week after it became known that 4-star safety Dior Johnson had decommitted from the Demon Deacons. 247's Composite Ratings show that Bates is a consensus 3-star prospect and is the 127th best safety in the class. However, 247 ranks him as the 92nd best safety. He was also offered by Iowa yesterday, but opted to take an official visit to Wake Forest this weekend instead of Iowa. Bates is currently committed to Toledo.
