Running Back Rocky Reid Commits to Wake Forest

The product of Concord, North Carolina is staying home.

Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports

The Wake Forest football staff received some outstanding news this afternoon when Rocky Reid verbally committed to the Demon Deacons. By all accounts he was Wake Forest's top running back target. He was originally committed to the Tennessee Volunteers, but decommitted in late December. He took his official visit to Wake Forest this past weekend. Reid is the 47th running back in the country according to 247's Composite Ratings. Reid chose Wake Forest over Tennessee, Louisville and West Virginia.

Reid ran for nearly 3,000 yards this season and had 3,355 in 2013. He can flat out produce.

I cannot stress how big of a commitment this is for Dave Clawson and the staff. Reid has the potential to be a game-changer. I would not be surprised to see him get significant playing time this fall. Operation #KeepRockyInNC worked and the Deacs will have their man.
