RS-Junior cornerback Allen Ramsey is number 28 on our player countdown list. Ramsey is the third cornerback in line, behind All-ACC candidates Bud Noel and Kevin Johnson. He started his first career game in Nashville against Vanderbilt for the injured Bud Noel.
He finished the year with 20 tackles, including eight in his only start. Ramsey graduated from Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ramsey was the No. 70 player in Florida and the 57th best cornerback in the nation He chose Wake Forest over offers from Maryland, Rutgers and Minnesota.
Ramsey will be called on to spell the secondary in rotational situations, and will bring good experience to a position that is overloaded with it already. Jalen Latter has also been coming on strong in practice, so at the very least those two will be getting more experience to move into a starting role next year after Noel and Johnson graduate.
