Wake Forest Player Countdown: No.'s 64 & 63 P.J. Howard and Britt Cherry

Streeter Lecka

When we began planning the player countdown several weeks ago, we assumed both Kameron Uter and Ford Howell would be on the team. We also assumed freshman incoming freshman Jaylan Barbour would be part of this year's roster and even ranked him 74th. You know what they say about assuming. We are rectifying the situation and getting our numbers back on track by featuring two walk-ons who should contribute on special teams.

P.J. Howard is a 6'1" 185 pound redshirt junior out of Portsmouth, Virginia. With the recent losses of Kameron Uter and Jaylan Barbour, it's possible that Howard sees some action as a receiver in addition to special teams contributions. Howard played in two games during the 2012 season and played in a number of games last season.

Britt Cherry is a 6'1" 225 pounds redshirt junior out of Apex, North Carolina. He is an inside linebacker who has been a special teams contributor over the past two seasons. During his freshman season he played in six games and recorded one tackle. I would expect Cherry to contribute in a number of games this season.

Other Walk-On Contributors: Chuck Schlegel and Nick Karp.
