True freshman linebacker Jaboree Williams is number 34 on our player countdown. Williams enrolled in the spring of this year, so he is a semester ahead of all of the other freshmen that came in during summer school.
The 6-0, 235 pound Williams played his high school football at Fort Lauderdale (FL) HS and was rated the No. 40 outside linebacker in his class by ESPN.com.
During his junior and senior season at Fort Lauderdale, Williams received honorable mention Class 7A All-State honors. He was named defensive MVP his junior season, after recording 105 tackles, nine sacks and five interceptions.
Williams chose Wake Forest over Wisconsin, West Virginia, South Florida, ECU and several other schools.
His highlight film showed great pursuit speed all over the field, including great bursts off the line to get after several punts. He is one of several talented young players in the front seven, and should get a fair amount of playing time as a true freshman.
I expect really big things from Williams, and one of the best things that he has done is represent Wake Forest well on social media from his Twitter account (@FlyGuyJaybee). He clearly loves Wake and has done a great job recruiting other players from his area to take a look at Wake Forest as well.
