Coming in at number 38 on our player countdown is freshman Zack Wary. Wary is a 6'4" 220 pounds linebacker/safety hybrid out of Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas. He was a consensus 3-star recruit and was ranked as the 37th best inside linebacker in the 2014 recruiting class, according to 247's composite ratings. Wary chose Wake Forest over Arkansas and Boise State. He is truly a perfect Wake Forest recruit because he scored a 33 on his ACT and had other offers to play high level football.
Wary has an opportunity to immediately come in and be in the two-deep, as he should be the backup to Hunter Williams at the rover position. Zack also has prototypical size and speed to contribute on special teams. He is a smart defender, and from the highlight video you can tell that he has excellent instincts and reads the field well. He is also a good tackler, and finished his high school career with more than 120 tackles.
Check back later for number 37. The season is less than one month away!
