Rs. So DE Shelldon Lewinson brings Blogger So Dear into the 40's in the player countdown at number 49. Lewinson enters his third year at Wake Forest, hoping to see increased playing time and productivity on the field.
Listed at 6-2, 225, Lewinson will bring a big body to the line, and also a 4.6 40. That type of athleticism will be greatly welcome to the defense.
He graduated in 2012 from Armwood HS in Seffner, Florida, one of the best high school football teams in the country during his senior season. Lewinson anchored that defensive line, leading Armwood to a 6-A Florida state title. He accrued 83 tackles, 17 TFL and 7 sacks, and was named second team all-state in the 6-A division.
Although Lewinson did not see a lot of action last year, he is expected to contribute this year from the defensive end spot. At the Spring Game, he was at the right place at the right time, as he caught a stripped ball forced by Duke Ejiofor.
He returned it 10 yards and set up the offense in great field position.
Lewinson finished with 4 tackles, a sack, and 2.5 TFL to go with that interception. This performance will hopefully be the beginning of many games like that in Old Gold and Black.
