Wake Forest Player Countdown: No. 54 LB Julian Thomas-Jackson

Where does the redshirt freshman fit into this year's Wake Forest team?

Dean Shore

Coming in at number 54 on our player countdown is redshirt freshman Julian Thomas-Jackson. Julian is a 6'4" 215 pound outside linebacker out of Dothan High School in Dothan, Alabama. He was rated as a 3-star recruit by ESPN and was named the 53rd best outside linebacker in the 2013 recruiting class. He finished his senior season at Dothan with 141 total tackles including 33 tackles for loss. Thomas-Jackson chose Wake Forest over Arkansas State and Southern Mississippi.

I have ranked Julian as the 7th best linebacker on the team, which is not ideal for playing time in a 4-2-5 scheme, but he should be a contributor on special teams. He's not flashy, but he can shed blocks and make tackles. He finished the spring game with 4 tackles including 1 tackle for loss, so hopefully some of that production will translate to Saturdays this season.

Check back in tomorrow to see who is ranked 53rd.
