It may be early on in the 2016 recruiting game, but head coach Dave Clawson and his staff have already secured a commitment from the #5 kicker in the '16 class in Dominic Maggio.
Maggio hails from Baltimore, MD, where he attends the Boys Latin School. Listed currently at 6-2, 150, he should continue to grow and build more power into his leg.
Although Wake Forest was his only offer at this point, he had interest from Duke, Florida, Maryland, Miami and a handful of other schools.
Coach Adam Scheier was the point man on Maggio's recruitment and did the majority of the "leg work" to get him to become a Demon Deacon.
According to the Chris Sailer Kicking Academy website, Maggio "has a big leg, and gets excellent height on his balls."
He also has a strong leg for kickoffs and has "potential to be a punter" as well.
Maggio is the first commitment in the 2016 class and we would like to offer him a big welcome to the Wake Forest family.
