Wake Forest Player Countdown: No. 83 Cody Preble

Dean Shore

Checking in at number 83 on our list is redshirt junior Cody Preble, who is a 6'5" 280 pound center out of Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida. Preble was a 3-star prospect in the 2011 recruiting class and chose Wake Forest over Maryland and Marshall.

Unfortunately for Wake Forest, Preble has yet to have much of an impact. He redshirted during the 2011 season and then only played 13 snaps during the 2012 season. Last season he only played in the season-opener against FCS opponent Presbyterian. Preble continues to have play behind Cory Helms, who started 11 of 12 games for last season, with the only exception being when White Barnes started against Duke on senior day. Center is just not a position where rotations happen, and if Helms gets injured then I believe true freshman A'lique Terry will get the nod. Terry was rated as the number 15 center in the 2014 recruiting class, but also has the ability to play guard. Because of his versatility and college-ready body, I believe Terry has a reasonable chance to play this year, which does not bode well for Cody's playing time.

Do you believe Cody should be ranked higher? Check in tomorrow to see who comes in at n umber 82.
