Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: Shake Milton

Milton is a talented 2015 guard who has major interest from Danny Manning and Wake Forest. See what he had to say about his recruiting and Wake Forest.

Donald Miralle

Shake Milton is a consensus four star recruit out of Oklahoma. He has the height to play both guard positions, but will likely make the transition to point guard in college. He has a refined offensive game, with the ability to drive, score and set up his teammates. His defense is improving, but his length gives him the potential to be a top defender. Milton's game and potential has led him to receive offers from many of the top colleges in the country, including Illinois, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Indiana, SMU and Wake Forest. Wake Forest has shown a lot of interest in Milton, who would provide a huge impact for the Deacs.

Danny Manning's first contact with Shake go back to Milton's sophomore year. At the time, Manning was recruiting Milton to join him at Tulsa. While Manning's chances of landing Milton at Tulsa were not great, he spent the time to build a relationship with Milton. Milton told Blogger So Dear, "I've built a really good relationship with Coach Manning and Coach Ballard."

The relationship that Milton built with Danny Manning has only grown since Manning's move to Wake Forest. "Manning's recruiting hasn't really changed. We still talk the same amount. We have kept a good relationship. Wake Forest is a bigger stage with more exposure."

Wake Forest is intriguing for Milton for many reasons. The most important, "Coach Manning and the competition. It's a chance to get better." Manning has clearly made an impact on Milton and their relationship is very solid. His ability to coach at the highest level will hopefully allow Manning to prove to Milton to join him at Wake Forest.

As Milton begins to make a list this July, his relationship with Danny Manning gives Wake Forest a good chance to land on his list. When he ultimately decides, he is looking for "Relationship with the coaches, academics, and player development." From his early thoughts, Wake Forest is definitely a school that could fill those desires. Milton is not a lock to come to Wake Forest, but Danny Manning is doing his best to land the talented guard.
