The Wake Forest coaching staff received a verbal commitment from cornerback Dionte Austin out of Towson, Maryland. Austin is rated as the 43rd best cornerback in the country according to 247's composite ratings and will be the highest rated recruit so far in Wake Forest's 2015 recruiting class. Austin is a tall corner at 6' and also possesses elite speed. Austin chose Wake Forest over a host of offers, including Maryland, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Duke.

Dionte Austin is a critical addition to next year's Wake Forest roster due to the graduation of senior cornerbacks Kevin Johnson and Merrill Noel. Austin will have a very legitimate chance to come in next season and compete for a starting position.
