Recruiting Spotlight: DT Kyle Henderson

Will the Deacs be able to land a gem in defensive tackle Kyle Henderson?

Grant Halverson

Kyle Henderson is a 6'0 278lbs defensive tackle prospect from Tampa Bay, Florida. Though Kyle played both fullback and defensive tackle in high school, his role with the Deacs would be at defensive tackle. Henderson will choose between Central Florida, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi St., Missouri, Oregon St., Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia and Wake Forest on Wednesday. Coach Cohen has been the primary recruiter of Henderson and I really like Wake's chances of landing the dynamic tackle.

Henderson has an ability to explode off the ball and his compact build allows him to hold his ground during one-on-one and double team battles. He also does a great job of keeping his head up, which allows him to break off his blocker when reading a running play. Kyle active hands which allow him to push off blockers and get to the quarterback quickly. I believe Henderson's greatest asset is his active motor and ability to follow the ball whether it is a running or passing play. Henderon will make an impact at the next level, and if he decides to bring his talents to Winston Salem he will help solidify a desperate need on the defensive line.
