Wake Forest Men's Soccer Releases Schedule

This season's schedule is simply loaded. Before the season even officially begins, Wake will host North Carolina in an exhibition match on August 23rd. Their first three home matches are all against teams who made the quarterfinals of last season's NCAA Championship. The non-conference schedule also includes Akron and Charlotte, who both made the NCAA Tournament last season. Wake Forest's four ACC home games are against North Carolina State, Duke, Boston College and Louisville. In all, Wake Forest will host 13 regular season home matches, in addition to two exhibition matches.

Tim Cooney Pitches a Gem

The former Wake Forest star came up just short of a no-hitter, as he gave up his first hit of the night with two outs to Cubs' prospect Arismendy Alcantara. He then recovered by striking out the Cubs' no. 1 prospect Javier Baez to earn a complete game win. In all, the southpaw allowed just two walks, one hit, and had seven strikeouts on 101 pitches. Cooney is now 4-4 on the season with a 3.82 ERA.

Tim Duncan and the Spurs go up 3-2 Over the Thunder

Ageless Tim Duncan came up with yet another excellent playoff performance, in what was the most important game of the season to date. He dropped 22 points and 12 rebounds, which made it the 98th playoff game in which Tim Duncan has had at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. That's more than an entire season's worth of 20 and 10 performances.
