Wake Forest graduate Cheynne Woods has qualified for the U.S. Women's Open Championship, which will be held from June 19th - 22nd at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club's Course No. 2 in the Village of Pinehurst. Woods qualified for the event by competing in a  36-hole U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier at The Country Club at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. Woods is one of just 156 players who will participate in the championship after more than 1,700 players competed in sectional qualifying. Woods had a 36-hole total of 141 strokes.  Sadena Parks and Madison Kerley also qualified for the U.S. Women's Open Championship with scores of 137 and 141, respectively.

Cheyenne won the individual 2011 ACC Championship and in February won Volvik RACV Ladies Masters. Woods previously qualified for the U.S. Women's Open in 2012, but unfortunately failed to make the cut. Best of luck to Cheyenne!
