Wake Forest and Xavier have agreed upon a revised schedule to the "Skip Prosser Classic," which honors the late head coach of both Xavier and Wake Forest who tragically passed away in 2007. The two schools, who have six games remaining of the 10-game agreement, will not play until the 2015-2016 season. The schools will play a home-and-home series and then take two years off. This pattern will repeat a total of three times before the series ends during the 2022-23 season. The inaugural game took place during the 2009-2010 season and the home team has won every game of the series so far.
Wake Forest Director of Athletics Ron Wellman stated, "We are very similar institutions so the series makes a lot of sense. And we are close enough that our fans can travel to the away game. Skip's legacy will live through this series, and he would undoubtedly be pleased with the commitment by both of 'his' schools to play each other."
The only known non-conference games at this time are a home game against Minnesota on December 2nd and a neutral site game against Florida in the Orange Bowl Classic on December 20th. The full schedule should be released this summer.
