Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: 2015 SG Josh Reaves Interview

Coach Manning and Wake Forest offered Josh Reaves on April 16th. See what he has to say about Wake Forest and his decision date.

On April 16th, Wake Forest offered 2015 recruit Josh Reaves. Reaves is a very talented shooting guard who has the ability to contribute at Wake Forest right away. He is still maturing as a player, but his athleticism gives him incredible potential. With offers from Villanova, VCU, Temple, Penn St, Boston College, and Georgetown, Wake Forest has serious competition for Reaves.

With many top offers, it is obvious that Josh Reaves has a lot of skill. His biggest strength, "My defense. That is what I take the most pride in when I play basketball." This is a rare response from a top rated recruit, as most focus more on offense. Reaves' ability to play defense will get him on the court immediately wherever he goes.

Where Reaves game will continue to grow is his offense. The thing he most wants to improve is "ball handling and my jump shot. I hope to become more consistent." If these parts of his game continue to improve, he will be a very valuable player. Reaves is not a finished product, but he has the talent to play right away and the potential to be a very good guard.

While Reaves did not watch much of Wake Forest last year, he had great things to say about Coach Manning. "He is a very knowledgeable coach and knows a lot about the game."

Despite being a 2015 recruit, Josh Reaves is hoping to decide on a college early. "I will most likely decide during AAU season this year." With just one current scholarship available for the 2015 class, Reaves will likely be Wake Forest's first offer to decide from this class. Should Reaves decide to attend, it could end Wake Forest's 2015 recruiting class this summer, assuming there are no outgoing transfers or early graduates. This would allow Danny Manning to quickly turn his focus to the very important 2016 class.

After receiving his offer from Wake Forest, Reaves will have to determine if Manning and Wake Forest is a good fit for him relatively quickly. With the early decision coming, it will be important for him to visit over the summer and Reaves hopes to do so. It is hard to pick a favorite for Reaves as of now, so he is definitely someone for Wake Forest fans to keep their eye on.
