Wake Forest Offers 2015 Shooting Guard Josh Reaves

Danny Manning and his staff continue to be hard at work on the recruiting trail. On Wednesday, Wake Forest offered Josh Reaves.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Reaves is a 6'4" 185 pound shooting guard who attends Paul VI Catholic High School in Virginia. Paul VI has an elite basketball program and finished the season ranked 27th according to USA Today, with a record of 31-6. Reaves is a consensus 4-star recruit and is a top 100 player in the class of 2015.

Reaves averaged 12 points per game for the season and shot 71% from the field according to the Washington Post. 12 points may not sound like a lot, but when you consider that he has a teammate committed to Syracuse and a teammate committed to Georgetown in addition to at least two others who are high major players, it's impressive.

The rising senior has tremendous bounce and if you don't believe me, just watch the YouTube video below. His athleticism has allowed him to become an excellent rebounder for a guard as well as a very good shot blocker. He also utilizes his athleticism to play excellent perimeter defense, which is not something all great athletes do. Reaves has the ability to penetrate and finish around the rim and also has good court vision for a two guard. He should continue to work on his outside shot as he only made 19 3-pointers last season. His 71% free throw shooting should give you confidence that he can develop his outside game.

Josh currently holds offers from Boston College, Georgetown and Villanova, among others. You can follow Josh on Twitter @jreaves_23. He would be an outstanding addition to the Wake Forest basketball program and would contribute from day one.
