Recruiting Spotlight: Rocky Reid

Will Rocky Reid be the Deacs next big offensive weapon?

Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE

Rocky Reid is a 6'0 210lb running back from Concord, North Carolina. He is the ideal height and weight for a college running back. Reid has very good foot speed and quickness, which allows him to get outside and kick it into second gear. His ability to find and accelerate through the hole allows him to get to the second level where he can break arm tackles and make defenders miss. Reid has a high motor that pays off when battling for tough yards, allowing him to fall forward when finally brought down.

Rivals lists Reid as a 3 star recruit, with offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kansas St., Louisville, North Carolina State, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The Deacs extended an offer on March 7th and Reid visited spring practice last week.

According to 247 sports, Reid took an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech on Friday and the University of South Carolina on Saturday. Reid will also visit the University of Louisville on April 5th.

Rocky Reid would be an excellent addition to the 2015 class. Coach Clawson and his staff have brought in a very high level of talent, and landing Reid would propel Wake to the next level. Looking at the tape, it's plain to see Reid could compete for a starting sport from day 1. Coach Clawson had a 1,500 yard rusher last season at Bowling Green, and Reid looks like he has the tools to be the next big thing.
