Honored to be 'Opening the Gate' for the Wake/Clemson game Thursday night! Can't wait to get back! Thanks to @DemonDeacons @WakeFB #GoDeacs
— Riley Skinner (@Riley_Skinner) November 3, 2014
Six years ago, Riley Skinner threw for 186 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 73 yards in a 12-7 victory over Clemson on a Thursday night. This Thursday, Riley Skinner will 'Open the Gate' before the Demon Deacons come out to the field against Clemson.
Riley Skinner holds nearly every relevant quarterback record in Wake Forest football history. Skinner is the school's career leader in touchdown passes, completions, completion percentage and passing efficiency. He also holds the single-season record for passing yards, pass completions, passing touchdowns, and completion percentage.
As a redshirt freshman, Skinner led the Demon Deacons to an ACC Championship and was named ACC Rookie of the Year. He followed up his stellar freshman campaign, with two additional bowl game appearances, and finished his career in a shootout win over Duke in which he tossed 5 touchdown passes.
Riley Skinner is, without question, one of the most beloved football players to ever put on a Demon Deacon uniform. Please join me in welcoming Riley back to Winston-Salem!.
