Arkansas Predictions

For the most part the BSD staff powered through the first two games of the Demon Deacon basketball season, going a combined 14-2 in predictions about Asheville and Tulane. After everyone correctly picked Wake to defeat the Bulldogs in the home and season opener, two writers (Chris and myself) incorrectly opted to take the Green Wave to hold serve at home and served the price as Wake trounced Tulane to the tune of 71-49.

Through two games there is a battle for the top spot as six writers remain unbeaten and Riley, Jake, and Shayn have only  missed the correct scores by a total of 25 points.  Rob is in fourth with a 2-0 record and 29 points, Griffin is five points behind Rob at 34, and Matt brings up the rear of the undefeateds with 36 points. Chris leads me by eight points in the head-to-head matchup between the two 1-1 teams which means yours truly sits in 8th place out of 8 through two games. The good news is Wake still has roughly 30 games remaining for ground to be made up.

Leading everyone so far though is the BSD average and KenPom which are both 2-0 and have missed the two games by only 23 points, slightly ahead of Riley, Jake, and Shayn at 25.

Tonight's game at Arkansas promises to present a bit of a challenge for Wake Forest who, as of the time of this article, was a 14 point road dog and as such the writers' picks reflect this unlikelihood of a Wake victory. Let's check out the picks:
