DT Isaiah "Zeek" Rodney Commits to Wake Forest

Wake Forest received a huge addition to the 2014 class when defensive tackle Isaiah "Zeek" Rodney committed to the Deacs following his official visit this weekend.

Zeek Rodney, who was kind enough to answer a few of my questions two weeks ago, is a 6' 1" 265 pound defensive tackle out of Rock  Hill, South Carolina. He also happens to be the newest member of Wake Forest's 2014 recruiting class.

According to recruiting service 247, Rodney is a composite top 450 player in the class, and is one of the 30 best defensive tackles in the class. Zeek had an official visit to Syracuse last week, and while that visit went well by all accounts, he ultimately chose to play closer to home at Wake Forest University.

One thing Zeek mentioned to me was that he was looking for a place that was close to home and where he could play right away. Given that Rock Hill, South Carolina is less than a 2 hour drive from Winston-Salem and the departure of nose tackle Nikita Whitlock, Wake Forest fit the bill for his criteria. If you watch his tape, you can see why he was rated so highly and how he could easily play right away.
