The Deacs picked up its 9th commit for the 2014 class in WR Jaylen Barbour

Jaylan Barbour, a three-star wide receiver out of Monroe, North Carolina, has committed to play his college football at Wake Forest University.

Barbour stands at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and is the 20th ranked prospect in the state of North Carolina. He is ranked as the 69th best wide receiver in the country according to Rivals.com

On June 10th Barbour cut his list down to five schools in N.C. State, Duke, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. He had offers from a few other schools including: South Carolina, ECU, Charlotte and Appalachian State.

Barbour is the first wide receiver to commit to the Deacs for the class of 2014, and according to the Wake Forest Big Board, the coaching staff is looking to take multiple wide receivers. He is certainly a good start.

According to Maxpreps.com,Barbour caught 44 passes last year for 861 yards. This included a 5 catch, 154 yard (2 TD's) performance in a 50-3 win over South Stokes.

Welcome to Wake Forest Jaylan, this is one of the best decisions you will ever make and we can't wait to have you here.
